Strong Foundations Virtual Home Inspection
The following pictures were taken during multiple
home inspections conducted by Strong Foundations at various houses for the
purpose of creating this virtual home inspection. Some pictures are
representative of common house defects while other pictures were taken to
document unusual defects.
We hope you enjoy this virtual home inspection.
It is a small sampling of the type of detailed work you can expect from a home
inspection conducted by Strong Foundations.

A recommended safe hot water temperature level is no more than 125 degrees. The laser thermometer used in this picture shows a hot water temperature reading of 143 degrees. This is way too hot and can be especially dangerous to small children. The thermostat on the water heater is this house will need to be adjusted.
Windows in bathrooms above tubs need to be made with tempered safety glass in case somebody using the tub slips and falls into the window. The builder who constructed this home did not install a tempered safety glass window above the tub. Tempered safety glass breaks into tiny pieces when broken as opposed to non-tempered glass which breaks into longer shards.
Minor wall imperfection are out of the scope of what is covered during most inspections but water stains on the ceiling are not. This stain found on the ceiling of a 2nd floor bedroom led me to further investigation up in the attic. Continue on to the next picture to see what I found.
Directly above the ceiling stain seen in the previous picture was this plastic tub in the attic. Rather than get the roof leak fixed, the homeowners must have found it easier to catch the water that got in rather than stop it from getting in altogether.
The attic in this house was home to the central AC air handler and flex air ducts. The system overall looked fine except for the ripped sheets used to support the flex ducts from the attic rafters. I'm guessing the homeowners' budget ran short or they didn't feel like heading to the store for more supplies.
Bath vent fans are installed in bathroom ceilings to remove moisture from the house that builds up from shower use. However, the vent duct in this picture exhausts directly into the attic space. This excess moisture in the attic can lead to mold growth and needs to be corrected by rerouting the duct to vent to the exterior of the house.
